Dr. Moore received one of the biggest honors of his professional career earlier this year: he served as a groomsman for one of his former patients. A Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Moore completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. He joined Pediatric Healthcare in the fall of 1997, having done two years of service in the National Health Service Corps in his native Mississippi. Since making his home in Old Dominion, Dr. Moore has been involved in a number of civic, cultural, and professional activities. For six years, Dr. Moore served on the Board of Directors for the Make a Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, helping to fulfill wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. He sang for three seasons with the Master Singers of Virginia. Most recently, Dr. Moore served as a governor-appointed member of the State of Virginia Child Fatality Review Team, which meets in Richmond under the direction of the Chief Medical Examiner. In his free time, he writes poetry and lifts weights. Dr. Moore and his wife Susan, a college professor, have two children.
